Crock Pot BBQ

Make your BBQ for Tailgating in your crock pot, pack up your hamburger buns, mayo, pickles, slaw, and beans and head out to the tailgating event.   Start your BBQ early that morning of game day, or the day before the game.  Like any recipe that is to be found, this is how that I go about preparing my homemade BBQ sandwiches.

Utensils Needed:

1 Large Crock Pot
Two Kitchen Forks
Sharp Kitchen Knife
Large Casserole Dish
Container to put BBQ into

Ingredients Needed:

1 Large Pork Shoulder (trim off excess fat)
1 Bottle of your favorite BBQ Sauce (I use Kraft Honey BBQ Sauce)
Salt and Black Pepper
Garlic Powder or Minced Garlic
Blackened Seasoning

Directions:

Rinse Pork Shoulder in cold water and trim off any excess fat that might be on the meat.
Place pork in crock pot.  Season with salt, black pepper, garlic and the seasoning.  Pour
about 1/4 cup BBQ Sauce around the sides of the pork.  Place lid on crock pot.  Set the
crock pot to High, and walk away for hours.  You want the pork fork tender.  I cook my pork
shoulder for about seven hours in the crock pot.

When the pork shoulder is done, take the lid off of the crock pot.  Carefully remove the pork
from the crock pot, with forks, and place in the casserole dish.  Pour the rest of the BBQ
Sauce over the top of the pork, and shred it with two forks.  (The pork should pull apart easy)

Serve the BBQ on hamburger buns, or your favorite bread.  Add toppings to your BBQ
sandwiches like, mayo, pickles, cheese, or slaw.  Enjoy!
