Utensils Needed:
One Large Mixing Bowl
Cookie Cooling Trays
Electric Mixer
Square Cake Pan
Assorted Measuring Cups
Measuring Spoons
Large Kitchen Spoon
Cardboard
Aluminum Foil
Large Kitchen Knife
Ingredients Needed:
2 Cake Mixes (your favorite flavor)
Eggs
Vegetable Oil
Cold Water
2 Candy Sticks (Cracker Barrel sells those)
Small Chocolate Covered Doughnuts for Skateboard Wheels
Ingredients needed for buttercream icing (the recipe for the buttercream icing is on my blog)
Food Paste Colors (Use whatever color you like)
Directions:
1. Grease and flour the cake pan, and set aside. I use the cake mix to flour the pan with, it tastes a lot better than flour does. Mix the cake batter according to the package directions. Bake the cake in a square cake pan. Use the directions on the cake box for baking degrees and time.
2. Let the cake cool and remove from the cake pan. You will need a big piece of cardboard covered with aluminum foil or some other kind of foil to decorate the cardboard.
3. Now place your cake on your decorated cardboard.
4. Then, take a sharp knife and start triming your square cake into what that you think looks like a skateboard. I made homemade buttercream icing to decorate with cake with, using paste food colors.
5. Decorate the cake however that you want to using whatever colors that you like. The wheels on the skateboard are attached with two candy sticks and four mini chocolate doughnuts.
And there you have it. The skateboard picture that I have attached to my post is a cake that I made for my youngest son's birthday a few years ago. So tell me, have you ever made a skateboard cake before? If not, would you try to make a skateboard cake?
